Tropical Storm Gabrielle has been born.
At 11 p.m. the National Hurricane Center upgraded the Tropical Depression to a storm.
It's located about 70 miles south of Ponce, Puerto Rico with maximum sustained winds of 40 miles-per-hour.
Right now it's moving northwest at 8 mph.
Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic from Cabo Engano to Cabo Frances Viejo are under a tropical storm warning.
People in the Southwestern Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands should keep an eye on the system.
Gabrielle is expected to turn and head out into the Atlantic Ocean.
It likely won't directly impact South Florida.
